Yo-Yo Ma performs Gershwin on Late Night with Stephen Colbert

Yo-Yo Ma performs Gershwin’s Prelude No. 1 on Monday with the help of Late Show house pianist Jon Batiste. This performance didn’t actually air (another one did), but was instead a “web exclusive.”

It sounds like they could have rehearsed this another half a dozen times, but let’s hope it at least signals the return of classical music to late night television.
