Rossini: Overture to “La Cenerentola.” Carlo Maria Giulini conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra.
Panufnik: Piano Concerto. Ewa Kupiec, piano; Łukasz Borowicz conducts the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
Haydn: Symphony No. 103, “Drumroll.” Antal Dorati conducts the Philharmonia Hungarica.
Sounds great
All three are wonderful pieces. Not sure they make a “convincing whole” though for a concert.
Nonetheless, the Panufnik was new for me. Cool piece. I liked the jazzy feel to it at the end. Didn’t feel forced like when other composers try to do this. Worth a pianist putting aside a standard rep piece to learn it.
