The playing is of course superb. For me, however, this symphony is far too weighty and too monumental, to say anything coherent about the interpretation of it based on listening through a home computer. This has to be heard in a very good concert hall in a live performance. Since many of the participants including the conductor are no longer alive, i give up. But thanks anyway – this recording is certainly a pleasure to experience more than once.
I have this recording on vinyl and it sounded great back in the day, an experience in itself. I think it still sounds good on my home system. Certainly better than this YouTube video.

Mine is on a CD. Yes, i know – how terribly old-fashioned – so 1990s! Nevertheless, it sounds wonderful.
