Strange and fascinating piece. Even though it’s only 20 minutes long, I feel like there’s enough musical material here for a work 3x as long. Ideas bounce around quickly without really being developed, almost like a Cliffs notes version of a symphony. Certainly packs a punch though and he knows his way around an orchestra. The brief, organ part is a fun, extravagant addition.
