This piece has actually fared pretty well on record over the years. (Munch, Monteux, Paray, Ansermet and Dutoit, among others, recorded it.) I’ve never heard it live, though, nor, I’m willing to bet, will I ever.

A wonderful symphony. Also, it’s quite hard to play so that unfortunately might lead to it not getting as many performances but certainly easy enough for local bands like the LA Phil and Pacific to do within a normal rehearsal cycle. I think the Dukas symphony is a similarly neglected French symphony that is also not easy.
