I remember hearing Principals with the LA Phil back in the 80s and liking it a lot but also noting how VERY close in sound thematically and harmonically it is to Shostakovich, especially the 1st Violin Concerto. Not sure it’s ever been recorded.

I’m not sure Principals has been recorded, either. It should be.
I was wondering the same thing about “A.P. Mutter” but don’t know the answer.
