I’ve always liked this piece, and think it’s underrated. (No, it’s not deep.) I also like this recording very much: Jean Martinon conducts the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra.

Classical Life

This was one of the first pieces that turned me onto classical music when my 7th grade music appreciation teacher played it on Halloween with accompanying film strip. (This was at a time when some public schools had mandatory music education classes.) I’ve always had an affection for Danse macabre since hearing it at that young age.
