That was a very interesting review. Particularly this phrase:
“They dart and feint and dodge through the music like a school of fish changing direction. It is fine playing moment by moment, but it tends to miss the big picture and after a while is a little exhausting and persnickety. One wanted them just to leave the music alone, at least once in a while.”
That’s very observant, something I’ve felt but never able to put into words.
