I thought he was going off the rails in that first phrase, but he pulled it out! XLNT!
The person who can’t play it is me. Or was me. I came close, but never quite mastered it. I could maybe knock it off 40 percent of the time, at my best. The problem is how high it is. The first note, coming out of a long rest, is a high B-flat. The line goes up to D-flat. It’s a high wire act, without a net. And I never played it with an orchestra. I would have been shaking like an earthquake if I had.
I remember hearing it coming from your room! You COULD play it!
