I’ve also found that young people (toddlers through teenagers) are open to really anything, even some hard-edged modern stuff because the sounds were so exotic. When my kids were small, I would have them choose CDs at random from my collection and would put them on. Among the two most popular were Carmina Burana (not really a surprise) and Schoenberg’s Five Pieces for Orchestra (big surprise!)
