   That’s good to know since the circumstances surrounding SDO’s CEO and his wife sound quite irresponsible, perhaps even suspicious.

   Beyond that, I read an article a few days ago that gives a thorough rundown on the current state of the Metropolitan Opera, including its budget and ticket sales, and it appears that things are shaky all over. If the “Mighty Met” is quivering, I grimace to think what’s going on with other performing arts organizations throughout the US, particularly the comparatively young LA Opera, still dealing with the lingering effects of its Ring Cycle in 2010.

   Who will give, knowing the size of the salaries these contributions will support? I turned a deaf ear to the LA Phil’s pleas for donations knowing Deborah Borda makes almost $2 million per year along with the Dude’s $1.5 million salary.

   The Campbell’s make $800,000 per year, 5% of the budget. That’s ridiculous.
