Conductor Daniele Gatti has canceled all of his performance engagements for the next couple of months on his “medical staff’s” orders. He has tendinopathy (acute inflammation of the tendon) in both shoulders. Gatti was due to lead the Vienna Philharmonic in parts of its U.S. tour, including a stop here in Orange County on March 3.

Lorin Maazel will appear in Gatti’s stead behind the Orange Curtain. The program remains the same: Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, with soprano Juliane Banse.
